THE POT WITH HOLES

THE POT WITH HOLES

This is a story I heard today and I thought it would be encouraging to share it.
Once there was a woman who used to go to the river early every morning to fetch water from the well. Though her pot had holes, the woman would still journey to the river with other ladies to fetch water. But by the time she reached her home, the pot would be half full.
The pot with time became weary especially after seeing how other pots would carry water while full and reach their destination while still full, something that had never happened to it. This made the pot to be very sad.
One day the pot decided to ask the owner,
“Mama, why do you still bother with me and yet I don’t benefit you much. If at all, I make you travel for more trips to fetch water unlike other women. Why don’t you get rid of me and get yourself a whole pot mama. I won’t feel bad.”
The woman, sad by the words of the pot looked at the pot and carried it to the well and told the pot to be very keen and observe every detail of their journey. So they went and the woman as usual, drew water with the pot and carried it. But as they were walking back, the pot observed that the path they always used had very beautiful flowers planted on it, and its water would fall on all the flowers .But something special happened such that every time a single drop of water would fall on the flowers, they would dazzle and sprout. Again the pot observed another wonder; that the path other women used had no flowers. Infact it was dry and dusty.
Once they reached home, the pot asked the woman,
“Mama, I noticed something today. That where we usually pass, there are flowers on the ground and every time water pours on them, they dazzle and sprout unlike the other ground where whole pots pass”
The woman with a smile on her face said,
“Yes! Exactly so my pot. I bought you with holes because I knew only you were unique to water my flowers but at the same time carry some water for me to use. The beauty of my flowers is as a result of your work. Never despise yourself my pot and never compare yourself with other pots. Only you can do what other whole pots can’t. You are unique and I love just as you are!”
Well, I think many times we are like the pot with holes. We spend time thinking and battling with our weaknesses, failures and misfortunes that we forget to whom we belong. This is what 2corinthians 12:9 tells us
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me
There is no-one who is useless in this life. We may be weak yes, but even in our weaknesses, Christ’s power is made PERFECT in us! What an assurance!
Be encouraged today Child of God. You are unique. You may be broken but Lord Jesus Christ loves you to death! Literally He died so that you may live and your life is precious to Him. Hallelujah to King Jesus!
Victory is assured with Jesus Christ!

Soul- Tie barriers

Soul- Tie barriers

Have you ever had a hard time differentiating between your heart and soul? I did. I would sometimes refer to my heart not realizing that in real sense I was referring to soul. I bet most of us have been caught in this dilemma. We shall try to understand what the soul is really made up of in order to understand how a soul tie comes about.
What I’m about to share today is courtesy of Pastor Nellie Shani of Breaking Barriers International(BBI), who helped me realize the importance of this subject matter and how ignorance in it can really affect our present and future relationships whether positively or negatively. And so I give all the credit to God and to pastor Nellie for being used by God to open my eyes. I pray we shall learn together.
Firstly, what is a soul tie? A soul tie can be simply described as an emotional (also thoughtful or willful) attachment one may have with someone else.
Why emotional, thoughtful or willful? We shall answer in a while.
I came to realize that I have a soul-tie with my husband because when the two of us were joined together in Holy matrimony, we became one flesh; physically, emotionally and even spiritually. It is the same with sibling relationships, or parent-child relationships, or even boss-employee relationships etc.
There are two kinds of soul-ties;
·         Positive/godly soul ties
·         Negative/ungodly soul ties
Any relationship that does not produce the essence of the Holy Spirit will definitely forge in ungodly soul tie. I know this is where the rubber meets the road for many relationships, and some may already be asking what this implies. Well, let’s get deeper…
What happens when you think of a person and what you feel is pain, anger, resentment or such emotions? Well truth is told these emotions will certainly not produce the righteousness of God.
Ask yourself these questions;
  • Ø  I’m I in bondage to any person such that before I make ANY decision I must always ask myself what they would think of ME or the decision.
  • Ø  Is there somebody in my life who manipulates me or I manipulate them?
  • Ø  I’m I easily controlled or control others?
  • Ø  I’m I tormented by thoughts of a former lover or friend?
  • Ø  I’m I truly free to be all that God has intended me to be without any person’s interference?
  • Ø  Have I bound myself to someone by my words?
  • Ø  Is there anyone I am carrying in my heart? Is there anyone I have not forgiven?

If your answer to all these questions is NO, then hurray! You are free! As far as this is concerned, you have a healthy relationship with your spheres. But if your answer to one or all is YES, then there is need for deliverance. But praise to God through our Lord Jesus Christ because the Son of man came to set the captives free and therefore He who the son sets free, is free indeed! Glory to King Jesus!

Why the Soul?
Inorder to understand this, we need to get to scripture
Galatians 5:23
“May God Himself, the God of peace sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”

The temple described in the Old Testament was divided into three parts;
  • Ø  The outer court
  • Ø  The inner  court
  • Ø  The Holy of Hollies

With this regard, human beings have also three distinct parts;

Ø  The body- which can be related to the outer court
Ø  The soul- which can be related to the inner court
Ø  The Spirit- which can also be related to the holy of hollies

The soul moreover has 3 vital parts;
Ø  The mind- THINKING
Ø  The emotions- FEELINGS
Ø  The Will- ACTIONS
At this point, it is important to note that a soul tie will affect us and our relations whether positively or negatively because of how we are affected in our minds (thoughts), our emotions (feelings) and our will (actions)
I will have to pause here for now, but we shall talk more on examples of soul ties and how we can break them on our next sessions
Blessings

What are These Invisible Ropes?

What are These Invisible Ropes?
I never knew I was so afraid of darkness until power goes out. One day I had reached home much earlier than usual from work, and as usual, I went straight to the kitchen and started cleaning up dishes as well as tidying my house. I was now preparing to make supper when suddenly the lights went out. Guess what I did? I literally ran out of the house like a mad woman. (Sometimes when I think about this, I start laughing)
Fortunately power was back, and my husband was also home. I explained to him what had just occurred and he was perplexed. Again such a situation happened but this time round we were together in the house. He was in the living room and I was in the bathroom. I literally ran to the sitting room where he and I was panting heavily! He asked me, “Brenda, why are you afraid of the dark?” I told him, “I don’t know. It’s just that I hate darkness. I actually fear something will attack me”

It’s amazing that something like FEAR can tie many and even hinder them from accomplishing their God given purpose. Many of us are afraid of others, we, situations etc and we allow fear to live and even rule us. This rope called fear is an obstacle to success and sadly cannot produce any good fruit no matter how hard we cultivate it.
I got this image from a fear site:

My question at this point is why are we often so afraid? Well think about it, who is the perpetrator of fear? The devil. His ultimate desire is to steal, kill and destroy. But good news is Jesus Christ came that we may have life and life in abundance.
With Jesus Christ, the rope of fear is cut and faith begins to take over. Get encouraged today and overcome all your fears through the power of the cross in Calvary. Listen to what Psalm 27:1 says,

The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid?

Are there other invisible ropes?
We shall look at that in our next piece. Hope you are encouraged so far by these two pieces. Let me know what you think of them as well.

God bless you
